About Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

The key concept of CBT is that through the exploration of the relationship between our thinking and our behaviour, we can challenge the negative beliefs we have of ourselves which are often triggered by events in our lives.

The key concept of CBT

The key concept of CBT is that through the exploration of the relationship between our thinking and behaviour, we can challenge the negative beliefs we have of ourselves which are often triggered by life events. This type of exploration results in better control over our behaviours which cause us concern and distress. CBT is a tool that aims to replace negative and often irrational thoughts with more positive rational ones.

Research has shown CBT to be a successful tool in managing problems such as:

  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Addiction
  • Relationship Issues
  • Personality Disorders
  • Panic Attacks/OCD
